Addiction often does not leave a person with manyresources, which leads to homelessness and instability. The Sober LivingHome will provide a stable living environment which affords key componentsfor an ongoing sober lifestyle. To maintain sobriety, it is essential to have asafe, stable and structured home that encourages the skills already gainedfrom treatment. The sober living home further provides an alternative livingsituation removing the conditions that exacerbated the initial addiction.Although out of County halfway houses are available, the geographiclimitations present a barrier to treatment and court appearances. The SoberLiving Home could not have been completed without the help of: TheDeKalb County Board and County Officials, the City of Sycamore Council,the Sycamore Police Department and all community members.
